How does the A4VG pump work?

For the axial piston pump, regarding its working principle, we can think of it as several syringes working at the same time. Each plunger and the cylinder cooperate to form a syringe. The number of syringes depends on the number of plungers. . At the same time, these "syringes" have oil pressure and pressure. The working principle of the A4VG pump is also the same, but as a closed variable displacement piston pump, its swash plate can cross the zero position to achieve the change of the flow direction, which is a bit complicated to implement.

- The charge pump supplies the control oil. The control valve controls the displacement of the variable piston. The variable piston drives the swash plate to change the swing angle to achieve the change of the pump displacement.

- The displacement of the pump is proportional to the difference in the control oil pressure between the two pistons of the variable piston;

- Control oil size and control signals, such as electricity, liquid, and manual signals;

- The shut-off valve on the pump limits the pressure at which the pump operates;

- Safety valve on the pump to achieve system safety protection;

 

A4VG pump main control

According to the different types of control valves on the pump, the A4VG pump has various control modes. The following are common control methods:

- HW manual control: The pump displacement is proportional to the angle of the control valve handle.

- EP Electric Proportional Control: The pump displacement is proportional to the current signal of the proportional solenoid.

-HD hydraulic control type: Pilot-controlled hydraulic control, the displacement of the pump is proportional to the pilot pressure.
